Yu (James) Zhang is a Senior Software Engineer in Crestron Electronics Inc. He received a B.E. in 1997 and a M.E. in 1999 from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, China. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2004 from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His Ph.D. dissertation research focused on the realistic face modeling and animation using anatomy-based modeling in conjunction with physically-based animation. From 2003 to 2005, he was a Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing, National University of Singapore. Then he was a Software Engineer in the 3D Face Modeling and Recognition Group at the Genex Technologies, Inc. (acquired by TechNest), USA for a year. In 2006, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Center for Human Modeling and Simulation, Department of Computer and Information Science at University of Pennsylvania. After that, he was a Research and Development Engineer in the Institute of High Performance Computing, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) at Singapore from the end of 2006 to 2010. From 2010 to 2013, he was a Software Engineer in the College of Medicine, University of Vermont. In 2013 and 2014, he was a Software Engineer in Transfinder Corporation. He worked as a Software Engineer in KLA Corporation in 2015 and 2016. He worked as a Senior Software Engineer in Salient Corporation from 2016 to 2019.
My work has been published in many top journals in computer science including (IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, Computer Graphics Forum, Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds, International Journal of Shape Modeling, Journal of Visualization, International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology, Journal of Visual Language and Computing, and Machine Graphics and Vision).
